With the invention of the Jacquard loom in 1801, weavers were able to incorporate intricate patterns into their designs. This advancement resulted in coverlets progressing from a simple item of function to one of aesthetic beauty. The Wilmington is a reproduction of a woven coverlet crafted in 1851 by Jesse Hart of Wilmington, Ohio, and features a corner stamp with an excerpt from English poet Hannah More. The original is currently housed at The Art Institute of Chicago. Fully reversible. In blue. Pure cotton. Washable. Imported.
